Cassandra was the daughter of Priam, King of Troy. After meeting Apollo, who was used to getting his way with women, the god was displeased - Cassandra rejected him. Apollo decided to take revenge. He cursed Cassandra with the power of prophecy, but at the same time, no one would ever believe her predictions.
